If a yellow ball passes through the Color Up power-up, it then becomes a green ball worth three points, and so on.

The ball colors and points progression is as follows:

• White – 1 point
• Yellow – 2 points
• Green – 3 points
• Teal – 4 points
• Blue – 5 points
• Purple – 6 points
• Red – 7 points

Red is the highest level a ball can reach. If a red ball travels through the Color Up icon, it will remain red and still only award seven points upon return.

Expand: This power-up features a small white circle with four triangles sticking off it and a dashed white circle around both. A standard sized ball that travels through this symbol will be transformed into a larger ball (double the starting size).

Double-sized balls award twice as many points when they reach the return tube, so a large white ball will award two points instead of one, a large teal ball will award eight points instead of four, etc. The larger balls are also a bit easier to hit with the paddle.

The Expand power-up will only enhance a single ball before it disappears: once one ball travels through it and is upgraded, this power-up will immediately vanish. If an already doubled ball hits this power-up, it will be split into three balls of its same color (so a double-sized purple ball would turn into three smaller purple balls).

Extra: The Extra power-up features a white circle with a plus sign in the center and a green countdown circle similar to the Color Up icon. Any ball that passes through this power-up will produce an additional ball that will enter the return tube and be added to your current active total.

The ball that is produced is always white, but it will be the same size as the ball that produced it: so if a double-sized green ball went through the Extra power-up, it would produce a double-sized white ball.

The Extra power-up will remain active until its green countdown timer runs out. There is no limit to the number of balls that can pass through it and produce an extra ball during this time

The best result possible is to get a high level / color, double-sized ball into the Expand power-up so it splits into three smaller balls of its same color. While power-ups are key to improving your scores, keeping balls in play is even more important. If you have to choose between getting a ball into a power-up or saving one that is about to drop, choose the latter. Every time you lose a ball, your paddle shrinks a tiny bit.
